LIDDED BOWLS
Sometimes bowls have lids. Lids can serve several purposes. In the case of these bowls, their primary purpose is decoration. Some lids are made from the same material as the bowl. Other times, a wood that offers contrast is used. In all cases, a knob or finial is attached, to make it possible to remove the lid. But to be honest, the purpose of the finial (or knob) is to add a nice, decorative element to the bowl.
